Paolo Nutini is not a smooth Italian pop star (as his name might suggest) but a soul-influenced adult alternative singer and songwriter from the exceedingly non continental town of Paisley, Scotland. Raised in a music-loving family, with influences ranging from folk to opera to the jazz and R&B favorites of his father, and discovering homegrown folkies like John Martyn in his teens, Nutini left school in his mid-teens to focus on developing his own musical chops.
Paolo Nutini has announced a 12-date UK tour this May, coinciding with the release of his new album Sunny Side Up in June.
Setting out on May 2nd Paolo will be calling at Lincoln’s Engine Shed. He will then visit Preston, Liverpool, Norwich, London, Bristol, Wolverhampton, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Dunfermline and Inverness, finishing up with a homecoming gig at the Glasgow’s ABC on May 20th.
